In Development

Comic Animations currently has several exciting films in development.

We are working closely with talented writers, directors and storytellers to develop our own productions. Excitingly, in February 2016 Comic Animations announced with Cinesite Animation Studios that it was developing nine animated feature films, some of which will move into production over the next five years at Cinesite’s expanding Montréal studios. The first, Klaus, a co-production with SPA Studios and Atresmedia, will be written and directed by the acclaimed animator Sergio Pablos (creator of Despicable Me).

We look forward to sharing more news soon.

Who is Santa Claus? Where did he come from? Written and Directed by Sergio Pablos (creator of Despicable Me) and co-produced by SPA Studios, Comic Animations and Atresmedia Cine, Klaus tells the “real” story of Santa. Klaus is the first production to be announced in Cinesite Animations’ slate of nine feature films.

Sergio Pablos: “It’s very exciting to move forward with the production of Klaus with Cinesite Animation, following our development of the project with Atresmedia Cine and Comic Animation. Together we will create a very character driven seasonal comedy for all audiences with an innovative technique that will allow us to bring together the best of both worlds: CGI and hand-drawn animation.”
